Planning with Charley and James was a dream. From our very first meeting I knew we were going to have the best time together planning their dream day. Coincidentally, we bonded over where we had grown up, and even figured out that their officiant was my high school government teacher. What a small world! We heavily dreamed and prayed for snow, as Charley really wanted a white wedding.
Apparently the weather gods heard our calling for a winter white wedding and the weekend prior to their wedding dumped a whopping foot of snow. We had gotten our snow. What we hadn’t expected was the day of, to give us another 6 inches of snow. It was the most beautiful day, full of snow, lots of shoveling and the most beautiful red rose decor anyone has ever seen.
The snow fell while they said I do’s creating a gorgeous cast in the greenhouse. A live painter captured their first kiss as a married couple. The painter continued to capture the essence and beauty of their nuptials throughout the night while guests could watch on and see her finish up all the details of the painting.
The red rose decor was just the pop of color needed for an extra romantic winter wedding. The florist; Engedi Bridal Design created the most beautiful floral arrangements to go atop our vintage brass candleholders. An original pairing to go along with candles in the other brass candlestick holders. Charley scoured vintage stores for months to create a one of kind tablescape where every guest had their own unique vintage plate to go along with Ivy House’s colored vintage goblets.
Ending dinner off with a dessert assortment of tasty mini donuts from Dizzy Donuts fancied the guests. And then a late night snack catered by The Knot Spot with soft pretzels was just the end cap that this crowd needed. The guests were happy, well fed, danced their booties off and had the best time at this winter wedding!
