From Dream to Reality: The Birth of The Grant Collection

The Grant Collection has been a labor of love for the past year. Ever since Candice & Brian started dreaming about what they wanted todo after the creation of  Ivy House, they knew that they wanted to get into more than just wedding venues. They knew the opportunities were endless. Creating a company name like The Grant Collection, allows for us as a brand to dream big and reach outside the world of wedding venues!

The name “The Grant Collection” comes from the vision that we have to cater to our clients for more than just weddings, corporate events, and extravagant parties. We chose the word “collection” because it allows for us to create a collection of experiences for our clients. Whether it’s a wedding venue or a rental property, we want to reach a collection of people wanting to experience once and a lifetime events or memories.

With The Grant Collection came the creation of the new logo. This was something meticulously crafted that took a lot of time (and a lot of people) to create. Our Business & Creative Administrator, Emma Woltjer, has taken the vision from the team and created the most beautiful logo for us - it is so special. She left no detail out and had a beautiful explanation for why she implemented what she did in this logo.

The hummingbird needed to be the main focal point. A hummingbird has been Candice’s favorite bird since holding the memory of her mother who was taken from her way too soon.. Here are a few characteristics of hummingbirds that really stick out to us:

Along with being agile, hummingbirds have speed and stamina. They have been clocked at nearly 30 miles per hour in direct flight & more than 45 miles per hour during courtship dives.

- We work hard & around the clock to provide the most beautiful experience for our clients

A hummingbird’s brain makes up 4.2 percent of its weight, proportionally, that’s the largest of any bird. By comparison, our brains are two percent of our body weight. Studies have shown that hummingbirds can remember migration routes and every flower they’ve ever visited.

- In our venues, every single detail has been thought out intentionally and every single person we work with leaves a mark on our team.

The symbolism of the hummingbird is also linked to the idea of eternity and infinity.

- Our team is dedicated to creating memories that last a lifetime. We hope you and your guests cherish your celebration for years to come.


In combination of coming up with how we are similar to hummingbirds at The Grant Collection, she also chose a color for the logo that offers the same level of luxury and symbolism that the hummingbird does:

- Cognac: derived from the alcoholic beverage of the same color, which, in turn, was named after a city in France. It is a deep reddish brown that often represents warmth, ferocity, and complexity.

With the talk of the new brand name, there’s a chance you are wondering what might be changing for us as a company. Well the answer is simple– nothing! We are still going to be the same company that is going to strive to make sure everything you experience with our team is flawless!
